हर्षित राणा ने दिल्ली प्रीमियर लीग में उत्तरी दिल्ली स्ट्राइकर्स का नेतृत्व किया। उनके पक्ष ने पहले चार मैचों में से तीन जीते हैं।
Harshit Rana’s on-field fire has once again crossed the line. The India pacer, leading North Delhi Strikers in the Delhi Premier League 2025, has been fined 10% of his match fees for a provocative send-off during Match 19 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Monday.
What did Harshit Rana do?
The flashpoint came early in West Delhi’s chase of 166 when Rana uprooted Ayush Doseja’s stumps with a pacy delivery that even shattered a bail. But instead of simply celebrating, the seamer turned towards the departing batter with a gesture that seemed to say, “Off you go.”
The league deemed it a breach of the DPL T20 Code of Conduct, specifically, a Level 1 offence under Article 2.5, which covers actions or gestures likely to provoke an aggressive reaction. Rana accepted the match referee’s sanction without contesting. The DPL confirmed the decision in a statement, adding that North Delhi’s Yajas Sharma and West Delhi’s Krish Yadav were also fined 20% of their match fees for separate incidents in the same game.
“Harshit Rana has been fined 10% of the match fees for breaching the Adani Delhi Premier League T20 Code of Conduct. Rana admitted to the Level 1 Offence under Article 2.5 (Using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from another player in the Match) and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction,” the DPL’s official statement read.
For Rana, this is hardly uncharted territory. His animated send-offs made headlines in IPL 2024 with Kolkata Knight Riders, earning him two separate fines and eventually a one-match suspension after repeated breaches, including a highly talked about incident against Delhi Capitals. Rana threw flying kisses towards the departing batters, which led to all the drama in IPL 2024.
The DPL’s crackdown on provocative gestures continued the very next day. In Match 21 between Purani Dilli 6 and East Delhi Riders, East Delhi’s Arpit Rana was fined 30% of his match fees for a similar breach under Article 2.5 (Level 1) after making a sending-off gesture towards a dismissed batter.
